Value-based Payment Models and Quality in Long-term/Post-Acute Care

The Advancing Excellence in Long-Term Care Collaborative (AELTCC) has selected value-based payment and quality as the topic of its next Forum of 2018, to be held 12:30 to 3:30 pm on Tuesday, June 19 at Forest Hills of DC.

Date: Tuesday, June 19, 2018
Time: 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Location: Forest Hills of DC

4901 Connecticut Avenue
Washington, DC

This Forum will address the ongoing movement from paying for volume of services delivered under traditional fee-for-service payment to paying for the value of services provided, and the impact on resident/patient quality of care. Value in healthcare is often defined as the ratio of cost to quality, and new payment models differ in their methods for calculating costs, measuring quality, and determining payments.

The opportunity is to align healthcare incentives to achieve the highest value, but there are barriers and challenges that impact stakeholders in different ways. The first session will explore the impact of value-based payment models on long-term and post-acute care payers, providers, clinicians, and patients. The second session will be focused on the opportunities for AELTCC to engage in this arena and help drive thew format of our September forum.

Program Outline:
